Reviewing Assignments with Ouriginal

Ouriginal is a text comparison system that compares submitted assignments to other sources, with the main purpose of preventing plagiarism. Ouriginal can also be used by students as a measure of revising their own work, as the program will find passages that should have a reference or be put under quotation marks. Read more about LUs views on plagiarism and Ouriginal in the information box at the bottom of this page.

Submissions via Ouriginal

If your teacher has chosen that all submissions should be reviewed by Ouriginal there will be a box you must check to declare that the work you are submitting is your own.

Of  course you should never submit anything you have copied  from another source, regardless if the work will be reviewed by Ouriginal or not. To plagiarise is considered cheating and could lead to suspension from further studies.

Alternatively your teacher may request for your work to be submitted to a specific email address where it will be reviewed by Ouriginal, instead of using the inbuilt Ouriginal function in Canvas.

Finding the results from Ouriginal (if your teacher has given you access)

If your teacher has given you access for you to see your Ouriginal results you can reach it via 'Grades' in the course menu. A coloured square means the analysis is done. If you click on the block you will be taken to a page that will display your results.
