Participating in Meetings

Participating via Invite Link

To participate in a LU Zoom meeting you need an invite link that looks like this:

https://lu-se.zoom.us/j/XXXXXXXXX

The X in your link will be replaced by a unique 9-11-digit code. The J in the link stands for "join" and is used only to attend meetings.

log in to https://lu-se.zoom.us/ Links to an external site. before joining a meeting to ensure that you are assigned with the correct role and qualifications. More and more meetings today are open for employees and students at Lund University only, and in order to participate in such a meeting you must log in correctly. You can also log in to a meeting directly from the client, when you do that you must choose to log in via SSO and log in with your LU account.

When you click on the invite link, a new launching window will appear in your browser and a popup will ask you to open Zoom Meetings. Accept this request to join the meeting.

Problems Connecting?

If the popup does not appear you can try the following:

1. Click on the button "Launch Meeting". The popup will then appear, and you accept the request like described above.

2. Click on "Download Now" to download the Zoom client, if you have not already done so, and try to connect to the meeting again. If you have a computer that is managed by Lund University, you do not download the Zoom client here, but instead you download it through your self-service portal. If you have PC.LU.SE you download the client from Software Center, and if you have a LUMAC you download it from Self Service.

3. Click on "Join from Your Browser" to join the meeting via your web browser. This is not recommended, due to some lacking functionalities when joining from web browser. We instead recommend that you always join a meeting using the Zoom client for the most optimal functionality.
