After the course you will know the basics of electrodynamics as formulated by Maxwell’s equations as well as related vector calculus

  • derivatives of vector fields and related integral theorems as well as the Dirac delta function
  • Maxwell’s equations on differential and integral form
  • stationary electric and magnetic fields in vacuum and matter
  • electrodynamics: Lorentz force and induction
  • conservation laws and energy transport
  • electromagnetic waves
  • scalar and vector potential
