Downloading Zoom
The Zoom program is accessed via the web, the client (the download for your computer) or the app. These different ways work equally well, but you may find that the different features of each can be advantages or disadvantages depending on your needs. If you are going to set up your own meetings, we recommend that you use the Zoom website to keep track of your settings most easily. If you want to actively participate in a meeting, we recommend the downloading the Zoom-client, which has the best accessibility for all functions offered by Zoom. If, however, you only need to sit and listen to your meeting, the Zoom app works very well if you are on the go, or if you do not have a computer available. You can read more about how to join meetings and create your own meetings in the Digital Tools Module.
The website
To use Zoom on the website, no download is required. All you have to do is go to lu-se.zoom.us . From this page you are prompted to log in, and from there you can join or create meetings.
The client
When you click on a meeting for the first time, the client will provide an option to be downloaded automatically, but you can also download the client in advance if you want to be able to hold your own meetings, for example. To download the client, go to lu-se.zoom.us/download and click 'Download'.
The App
You can use Zoom on your phone or tablet. The app can be easily downloaded from the App Store or Google Play store and is called 'Zoom – One Platform to Connect'. Be extra careful that you log in correctly when you use the app: it is easy to miss the SSO login option which you need to select to access your student account.
