Module 3 Summary

We always recommend that you start with something simple and clearly defined. Try it out in one class, get some student feedback, reflect on what has worked, and then move on to more complex, or longer, activities when and if you feel ready. If things don’t work, discuss it with your students and talk about whether it was a limitation of the tools, or the process, or a conflict with the values you have on the course, or something else.

Summary: the only thing that every teacher needs to do is to develop some principles and values about using GAI tools in their subject area and course, which you can explain and defend to colleagues and students. If you don’t want to use the tools yourself, you don’t have to, but you should be able to explain why it will have a negative impact in relation to learning, time, or the values of the subject.

This resource was a fairly basic introduction. If you want to continue the conversation, you can join the Microsoft Team Links to an external site. for GAI tools and education, which can be used for asking questions and sharing further resources, and anything else you think of.  You can join using your usual LUCAT ID and password.
