Who we are
Johanna Bergqvist Rydén
I am a lecturer and academic developer at the Division for Higher EducationDevelopment at Lund University. I hold a PhD in historical archaeology and have been working as an academic developer since 2012. I teach a variety of pedagogical courses and support teachers’ educational development in different ways. I have worked extensively with issues concerning the development of assessment practices in higher education. In my research, I am interested in the long-term processes of faculties learning and re-/acting in response to new policies. I am also involved in a research project concerning images of academic teachers and teaching.
Katarina Mårtensson
I am a senior lecturer the Division for Higher Education Development at Lund University and have been working as an academic developer since 2000. I teach in many of the pedagogical courses for teaching staff at the university, and on leadership and educational development for people with educational leadership positions.
I am co-editor for the international journal Teaching & Learning Inquiry. For a number of years I was co-editor of the Swedish journal Högre Utbildning and the International Journal for Academic Development. Between 2016-2019 I was co-president of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. My research focuses on academic teachers' professional development, and the role of their collegial, social context in such development. My PhD thesis (2014) was titled: Influencing teaching and learning microcultures: academic development in a research-intensive university.
In my spare time I like to hang out with my family (partner and 3 grown up children), to travel and exercise sports: freediving, orienteering, skiing, and hiking.
Marita Ljungqvist
I am a senior lecturer and academic developer at the Division for Higher Education Development at Lund University. I have been working with academic development in various forms since around 2008. I teach pedagogical courses and support teachers’ educational development in different contexts. I have a background in Chinese linguistics and was teaching on the first online Chinese language university courses at Lund University in the early 2000s. This led to a particular interest in online teaching and learning. My research interests have partly also centered around different aspects of this topic, recently primarily involving critical analyses of the political discourses around digitalization of education. I am also involved in a research project concerning images of academic teachers and teaching.
Jennifer Löfgreen
I am a lecturer in engineering education at the Centre for Engineering Education at Lund University and have been working with academic development in various forms since 2010. I hold a PhD in materials chemistry from the University of Toronto. In my teaching, I am especially interested in written and oral communication in science and engineering. In my research, I look at how we select, value, and use different kinds of knowledge in teaching and learning in higher education, especially in the STEM disciplines. I teach courses in higher education pedagogy, stage performance, academic writing, and oral presentation skills. I also collaborate with engineering faculty to better integrate communication instruction and feedback into undergraduate engineering courses.
Anders Sonesson
I am a senior lecturer and head of the division for Higher Education Development at Lund University. Originally a plant physiologist, I have worked with educational development since 2002. My main focus is doctoral education and supervision, and I have taught courses for doctoral supervisors for more than a decade. Research-wise, I am particularly interested in the intersection between policy and practice of doctoral education, and how ongoing changes in governance of both education and research has created tensions. Almost ten years ago I started the Swedish journal Högre utbildning (Higher education) and have recently resigned as editor-in-chief.
