If you were Lisa’s colleague, how would you advise her to proceed? In your own context, what are the rules, regulations, local support structures etc that she could turn to for guidance? What are Lisa´s responsibilities, and how do they define her space for action here? Have you encountered similar situations? What did you do? 

Note: If you are working through these tasks as a group of colleagues, we suggest you discuss this case together. It is not necessary that you come up with a joint “solution”, but see this as an opportunity to draw from each other’s experiences. Explore different ways of interpreting and enacting academic regulations and of finding a balance between the needs of different groups that are affected by them.
