Space of action

State policies and reform initiatives often leave a “space of action” (Askling, Bauer & Marton, 1999) for institutions and their staff to translate these instructions in ways that may suit different organizational ideals. Applying this concept to our everyday work as academics can be useful for forming a common understanding of how change processes can be initiated and facilitated. In this video, we present results from research on how academic teachers approach and respond to reform initiatives and policies.
