Individual reflection task: Where and who are you now?
Take some time to consider where and who you are at this point in time. It is a good idea to write down your thoughts, as this will help you articulate them. We also suggest that you keep these notes as a memorandum, to return to later.
Do not feel restrained by that what you note and write down would be anything permanent which will necessarily define you also in the future. Rather, the notetaking will - when you return to them later on - help giving you a perspective on your own development.

- What defines your personal academic identity? What parts of your academic role do you identify with and cherish the most? For example, is it your disciplinary belonging? Or your role as a teacher? Or as a researcher? Or as a practitioner within your disciplinary field or profession? Or is it you as being an academic as such? Or you being an intellectual? Or all at once - but , perhaps, to various degrees?
- In your opinion, are you given “space” for your identity to develop and flourish within the context in which you work and in the way you would prefer (eg. your department, collegial group)?
If not so: How does this affect you? What can you do to improve your situation in this regard?
- To what degree do you feel that the parts of the academic role that you identify the most with are rewarded and recognized in your collegial context? How does this affect you?
