Contents​​

In this course you will be provided with an introduction to modern neutron science. The main focus will be on neutron scattering from neutron interaction with matter, and how neutron scattering methods can be applied to scientific questions in physics. Moreover, you will learn how neutrons are generated for use in experiments and gain knowledge of neutron instrument design.

The course consists of three modules:

  1. Exam, 4.5 credits
  2. Individual project, 1 credit
  3. Group project, 2 credits

Entry requirements

To be admitted to the course, students must have 90 credits in Physics and Mathematics, including knowledge corresponding to FYSN17 Quantum Mechanics, 7.5 credits.
