Welcome to the Canvas information page for the course

Chaos for Science and Technology, 7.5 credits

given by the Department of Physics.

Please note: This page contains only general information about the course. It does not contain any course material that you can find here. If you are a student on the course you have to log in to the Canvas portal in the site navigation to find the courses of your programme.

Content

In this course you will be introduced to chaotic systems, in particular non-linear, deterministic systems with an unpredictable time development. You will be acquainted with fascinating chaotic system phenomena, for example strange attractors and the importance of fractal geometry. A practical example is a potential unstable solar system over a longer time scale. To decipher complex problems and their inherited chaotic nature, you will be familiarized with several conceptual tools and examples.
