Processing and Device Technology (FYSD23, FFFF11)
Welcome to the Canvas information page for the course
Processing and Device Technology, 7.5 credits
given by the Department of Physics.
Please note: This page contains only general information about the course. It does not contain any course material. If you are a student on the course you have to log in to the Canvas portal in the site navigation to find the courses of your programme.
Content
The course is given during autumn semesters, fully in English. It is mandatory for students in the 3rd year of the engineering nanoscience program (course code FFFF11), and offered as a free-standing course (FYSD23).
In the course, you will learn about important semiconductor-based devices, such as transistors, light-emitting diodes, solar cells, and specifically how they are fabricated. The lectures are focused around key steps in wafer-scale fabrication, including semiconductor crystal growth, thin film formation, lithography, etching and doping. In the laboratory exercises, which all take place in the Lund NanoLab cleanroom facility, you will fabricate and evaluate a transistor structure.
