Reflection: before your departure
Now at the end of your exchange period, we suggest that you take some time to reflect upon your experience in Lund. There are many different ways to do this. Why not write a personal letter to a fictive future employer, presenting yourself and all your skills, including your experience of stuyding in Sweden? It's important that you not only talk about your experience, but also reflect upon it. For example, instead of writing that you have been on exchange studies you should explain what you have learnt. Here is a short excample:
”I studied one semester at Lund University in Sweden. During this period I have learned some basic Swedish by attending a Swedish course designed for exchange students. I was also able to adjust to a new academic culture which mostly consisted of lectures, group projects and a lot of reading, and a much more relaxed relationship with the professor. This was very different from what I was used to in my home country. I believe this shows that I can adjust to new environments and that I am able to adapt my behaviour and communication style in an intercultural context.”
