Swedish language studies
Lund University offers different options for students interested in studying the Swedish language. It is therefore important to find the Swedish course that fits you.
- An Introductory Swedish Language Course (SUSA) is offered during the orientation week (3 credits, if successfully completed). An application for SUSA can be added to your application for exchange studies in Sweden. Mostly it is also possible to register for SUSA once in Sweden, on Arrival Day.
- As an added value to the student exchange programme and to awake an interest in the language and culture of the host country as well as to facilitate communication, Lund University offers Swedish Language courses to exchange students. Please note that if you want to enrol in any of these Swedish Language Courses (SVE) this must be an integral part of your study plan and as with all other courses you must inquire at your home university if they will recognise the credits that you might obtain in these language courses. The workload for these courses is as demanding as other regular courses. Attendance is mandatory and the rate of absence will negatively affect the final grades.
