Journal ranking

In academia, there is often a consensus among researchers in a research field about what is a good journal or a top journal. This (most often) correlates with how journals are ranked in various lists.

At LUSEM, for example, funding is allocated according to the number of articles, books and book chapters and whether these are published by journals/publishers that are ranked 1 or 2 in the Norwegian list.

When appointments are made, the journal/publisher where you have published is considered when assessing your scientific performance.

The most important ranking lists are listed below. It is important to always compare the same measure with the same measure.
