Technical Thursdays

Every Thursday we offer a workshop on one of the many skills needed to manage your university studies during the pandemic. Each session will be led by a host, but be prepared to share your experiences and knowledge with other students. The programme is offered in collaboration with the Social Sciences Library.

March 18th: Search techniques

Having a hard time finding what you are looking for? Become an expert searcher by learning the proper techniques at this workshop. 

March 25th: Presenting online

Will you be presenting your work online? Then this is the session for you! Learn about do's and dont's and share your experiences of online presentations.

April 8th: Copyright for students writing their thesis

Can I use this image in my thesis? What about this table? Learn about the basic copyright rules that apply to your work as a student.

April 15th: April fools! 

Avoid being fooled  today by learning how to properly evaluate the credibility of a source. A very useful skill within academia, as well as outside of it.

April 22nd: Information strategies after graduation

When outside of academia you won't have access to all the databases available at the university. Still, most jobs after graduation will expect you to monitor, search for and process information. Being knowledgable about these things can increase your chance of getting employed.

April 29th: Cite right - drop in between 15-16 pm

Unsure about how to cite that Youtube-video, or wondering about how to format your literature list? Bring your questions and get personal help during this drop-in session on references.
