Covid-19 - information for students

General aspects

  1. These rules are elaborated to assure a safe and sound study and work environment for both students and staff and it is only if we all work together that we can hope that virus does not spread and we can keep the teaching on campus open.
  2. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL WELL – STAY AT HOME. Report to your course teacher and arrange how you can follow the teaching from home. Try also to help each other. For example you can ask a fellow student to discuss material from lectures on Zoom or share your notes. Wait for at least two days after you recover before going back to university.
  3. IF YOU FEEL ILL AND HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID19 (do you have coughing, breathing difficulties, fever or a sore throat, having lost your sense of smell or taste) – STAY AT HOME AND AVOID CONTACT WITH OTHER PEOPLE. We also advise you to get a covid-19 test, it’s free. You can find information on 1177: https://www.1177.se/en/Skane/other-languages/other-languages/soka-vard/det-har-galler-for-sjukvarden-i-skane-i-och-med-covid-19/
  4. IF YOU ARE DIAGNOSED WITH COVID19 – STAY AT HOME. You should also contact studentadministration@fysik.lu.se and also inform your course teachers. According to the Swedish Communicable Diseases Act those who have a contagious disease (such as Covid-19), are required to do what they can to protect others from getting infected. For more information about this, please contact the national helpline 1177.
  5. Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds. If there is no possibility to wash your hands with water and soap, then use the hand sanitizer that will be made available.
  6. At all times you have to keep a social distance of at least 1.5 meters to other students and personnel.
  7. These rules may be subject to change due to external circumstances and it is the duty of both students and staff to keep up-to-date with what is currently valid.
  8. If you have questions regarding the implementation of these rules, please contact your supervisor (teacher, course coordinator, director of studies).
  9. If you feel uncomfortable in a teaching situation we strongly urge you to contact the teacher.
  10. The teacher/supervisor responsible for a class is ultimately responsible for rules being followed in the class room and may temporarily overrule what is stated here.
  11. The responsible teacher may at any moment decide to cancel, terminate earlier or modify an ongoing class if judged necessary due to safety aspects.
  12. We recommend you to study information, advice and updates on the Corona situation at the Lund university web pages:

Class rooms (where teaching takes place)

  1. All rooms designated for lectures, seminars, exercises and group discussions have been clearly marked regarding seats available for use. This must be respected.
  2. All rooms designated for teaching are equipped with hand disinfection products and in most cases disinfection products for use on desks, computers (keyboards) and other instruments. NOTE that the type of product to use on keyboards and instruments differ from what to use on your hands. Do follow detailed instructions given by the teacher regarding the application.
  3. Each person participating in class room teaching activities is responsible to sweep and clean their workspace as well as equipment in an appropriate manner before the activity starts — . If you are unsure about what is required, ask the teacher.
  4. Always use the indicated entrance and exit doors and avoid crowding when doing so.
  5. If you have to leave your seat during class (e.g. to go to the bathroom) please respect the social distance (1.5 m).

Common spaces and corridors

  1. Arrive on time and respect the social distance markers when arriving for a teaching event. When you are let into the classroom, go directly to find a seat. In most cases the teacher will arrive in due time and open the room before you arrive to avoid queueing.
  2. All common spaces are to be used for transit only and please do not crowd them during breaks if social distance of 1.5 meters cannot be respected.
  3. Respect the social distances also outside the buildings.
  4. Do not gather in common spaces for students.
  5. Try as far as possible to have lunch at home or outdoors. Spread out as much as possible and respect the social distance (1.5 m). In particular we expect students living in Lund to have lunch at home. For students living further away from Lund it is allowed to use the kitchen area near lecture hall A for lunch, including the microwaves. If crowding is observed we will have to close this option for all students.
