Alternative to holding lectures online
When you don't want to be on video
Written script as an alternative
If you have a script over your lecture that is easily readable, one option is that you share it together with a power point to your students.
Voice over PowerPoint
It is relatively easy to add a voice recording to your PowerPoint and to convert it to a video that can be uploaded to the tool Studio in Canvas. You can then add the videofile on a Page, in a Quizz, a discussion or as part of an assignment. You can of course reuse the video as many times as you wish and on multiple Canvas courses.
Try to keep the videos short by simplifying your lecture and dividing it into several sections. You can also use short clips at 5 minutes a piece to explain a certain concept or information on one slide in your PowerPoint presentation.
