A useful feature in Zoom is the ability to share your own screen with other participants. In order for you to share your screen as a participant, the meeting host must have approved this in their settings.

How to start, pause and stop sharing you screen

Click Share.
You can choose to share either your Entire Screen or an Application Window.
- Select Entire Screen to allow other meeting participants to see everything you can see.
- Select an Application Window to share one or more computer programs or browser windows. Other meeting participants will only see what you share, even if you switch to another window or program. If you are on a computer, you can hold down Ctrl or Shift to select multiple application windows.
Then click Share.
Pause sharing by clicking Pause.
Stop sharing your screen by clicking Stop Sharing.

When you share your screen, the usual menu bar will detach. You can move it around by clicking and dragging it. Most menu options are the same, but some are unique to screen sharing mode.

Several people can share at the same time. You can navigate between the different shared windows by clicking on the tabs at the top of Zoom.

Use Zoom's whiteboard

Click on Whiteboard in the menu bar.
Select either a New Whiteboard or an Existing Whiteboard.
You can now draw, write and highlight on the whiteboard by clicking on the annotation menu that appears.

If you use the whiteboard function, other participants in the meeting can also take notes on your screen. Turn it off by clicking on the icon with your initials in the right-hand corner and deactivating Meeting participants can edit.

Use your shared screen as a whiteboard

Start sharing your screen.
Click on Annotate.
You can now draw, write and mark on the screen by clicking on the annotation menu that appears.

If you use your shared screen as a whiteboard, other participants in the meeting can also write on your screen. Turn it off by clicking More in the menu bar and then Disable annotation for other participants.
