(For example if you signed up to the wrong slot and want to change time, if you can't do the lab because of sickness etc...)

General

Lab 1 concerns controlling the water level in a double water filled by a pump. You will experiment both with manually controlling the pump for the tanks, and by manually tuning a P, PI, and PID controller for the pump. The purpose is for you to get hands-on experience with the difference between manual and automatic control, open and closed loops, and the significance of the P, I and D components of a PID controller.

This lab is scheduled to weeks 2 and 3 of the course. You must sign up by the end of week 1, by January 24!

You need to bring a printed lab manual (or one bought at KFS) to the lab! The manual should not be filled in when you come to the Lab. If you have bought a manual second hand you must either erase the writing och print/buy a new one.

Preparation

Before the lab it is important that you read through the instructions. For lab 1 there are however  no mandatory preparation exercises, but it is recommended to read the first chapter in the lecture notes. Do note that both of the following labs will have mandatory preparations for you to complete.
