2. Uploading and Structuring Files

Before you begin uploading your course, prepare by organising your file library. By beginning with a well-structured file library, you will save yourself time and effort as you work with the teaching material in your course. The video below shows how you can do this. Note, the example given is just one possible structure, make sure you choose one that is logical for you and your colleagues to navigate.

 

Creating a File Library

The image is intended to show you how to organize your file library. The "Files" tab in the course menu and the "+ Folder" function are highlighted.

  1. To work with files, select Files or Filer in your course menu 
  2. Click + Folders to create a folder, rename your folder to suit your needs and then hit 'enter'

Files can be deselected in your menu; this means that the file option will not be visible in the student menu. Students will be able to access your files through the course structure. 

Uploading Files

The image is intended to show you how to upload files. The picture illustrates the 5 steps described more in detail below.

  1. Select the folder you wish to upload the files to
  2. Click the Upload button
  3. Select the folder on your computer where you are storing your files
  4. Hold down Shift to open multiple files
  5. Click Open

 

Uploading a zip-fil 

If you already have a structured file library on your computer you can use it directly by creating and uploading a zipfile. First create your zip-file on your computer.

  1. Choose Files in your course
  2. Drag and drop your zip-file into the folder of your choice
  3. Choose Expand in the pop-up window.
