Lab sessions - general information
General
The course contains three labs that will be conducted in Lab C at the Second floor of the M-Building, You will need to book times for your lab-session ahead of time, and for lab sessions 2 and 3 you are expected to hand in preparatory exercises.
The following persons are contact persons for the labs and can help out if you become ill, or need to switch time for some other (relevant) reason:
Johan Lindberg | Responsible contact person for Lab 1+2 | johan.lindberg@control.lth.se |
Fethi Bencherki | Responsible contact person for Lab 3 |
fethi.bencherki@control.lth.se |
You are expected to complete the preparatory exercises before attending your signup session. Someone from the teaching staff will then correct your hand-in at the start of the session.
Taking the lab at a later time
Persons who fail to show up to the lab without a valid reason, forget to sign up for the lab, or fail to complete the preparatory exercises ahead of time, will have to do the lab the next time the course is given. Fortunately, this is usually in the next study period:
lab1 and lab2 can be taken in all study periods (FRTF05 or FRTF10)
lab3 can be taken in lp1, lp2, lp3, but not in lp4 (FRTF05)
To take a lab in the next study period you must register for that course. For information about course schedule see this page. Links to an external site. Contact the course responsible or mika@control.lth.se on good time before the signup for the lab.
Preparation
Students usually appreciate the lab sessions as an excellent opportunity to gain a better understanding of the course content by applying the theory to real processes. The positive effect is greater for those who are well prepared, by having read through the lab instructions and relevant course material carefully before the session, so we recommend you to do this in order to maximally utilize this learning opportunity!
Print and bring the lab manual to the lab. It will be signed when you have passed the lab. It will act as your evidence that you have done the lab.
