Rules for Peer Review Assignments:

Every student must submit their solutions in Canvas in PDF format before the deadline. Earlier submissions are perfectly fine. Late submissions will not be considered and receive 0 bonus points.

1. Your submission must be anonymous! No names or emails or other info identifying students must be included in your PDF file. Canvas knows who you are.
2. The report you submit must fully discuss methods and details related to provided solutions and answers for each of the tasks/questions/exercises in order to receive credit.

Due to the large amount of turn-ins we need to strictly follow these rules.
Deviating from these rules will result in 0 bonus points for that particular assignment.

Peer Grading

Peer grading is mandatory and must be done correctly if you wish to receive bonus points for this homework assignment. Peer grading implies that you will grade the assignment from other students. The number of homework assignments to be graded will vary each time and will depend on the number of assignments that were turned in each time.

After the assignment is due you will find specific grading instructions (together with a deadline) at Assignment 4 - Solution . The main reason behind the Peer Grading in our course is for you to get feedback and find out if you did something wrong or even if there are other ways to do the same thing. This helps to better understand the solutions behind each of the assignments or/and to help your peers in their understanding.

How to Grade Assignments

To receive bonus points your grading must be consistent and correct. You must provide extensive written feedback while grading other students assignments.

Specifically you must:

  • At the very least write something along the lines of "well done" for each answer/explanation provided if all is correct; OR
  • suggest alternative ways of solutions (if the solutions were correct); OR
  • provide the method of solution if you discover a mistake. This will help your peers understand their mistake and find out how to solve the problem themselves.
  • State the number of point you award for each task and make clear where points are subtracted and why. At the end of your comment you should state the total amount of points for the whole assignment.
