Course grading

The course grading will be based on

• the final exam grade and 
• bonus points (see below) you have gained during the course by correctly completing homework assignments.

The final course grade can be any of U, 3, 4, and 5 (fail, three, four, and five). Grades of 3, 4 (VG) and 5 (MVG) imply a pass for the course.

Bonus points

You can gain bonus points towards the final exam from correctly completing homework assignments. There will be homework assignments which you upload till a certain deadline in canvas. For each homework assignment you receive at most 1 bonus point, which counts towards your final class grade. That is, if there are in total n homework assignments, you would be able to receive at most n bonus points. 

The homework assignments are not compulsory. Thus students who do not hand in solutions to the assignments may still obtain the highest grade provided they do well enough at the examination.

Any gained bonus points are only valid till the end of the academic year, i.e. for the scheduled exam and the two following re-sit opportunities.

Example: Assume you have 3.5 bonus points and you got 30 points from the tasks of the written exam. Then in total you would have 33.5 points.
