After workshop 3
Without any doubt, feminism has been very important in our society, by improving democracy (voting rights for all), developing the economy (separate taxation in some countries and parental leave for all) and awareness of harassment (#metoo), to just mention a few examples. But has it also changed Science?
When we approach the substance of STEM, we should be aware that there is no sharp border between "Culture" and "Substance" - they are intertwined.
Home Assignment 3: Gendered Innovation (To be presented on workshop 4)
You should prepare a presentation according to the following instructions:
- Go to the Gendered Innovation homepage (http://genderedinnovations.stanford.edu/ Links to an external site.)
- Pick one of the case studies that you feel is relevant for your project or interesting in a general sense.
- Read it through and prepare a short presentation (5-10 minutes) discussing:
- The project and what was studied.
- The methods used.
- What can be learned from it.
- How and if it was useful for your project preparation.
When you have done your presentation, upload your presentation here (slides). I will also mark the oral presentation as passed here.
