During workshop 7
Reflections
- Act of reflexivity: What is your own image of an experimental physicist?
- Can environments you are participating in be understood from a masculinity perspective?
- In these environments: Can aspects of physics be interpreted as gendered and thereby defined as more "natural" in relation to a specific gender?
- Are there any similarities (or differences) between my examples (and the course literature) compared to your own experiences?
Everyday practices
- Which types of characteristics are given diferent abilities/talents/skill given their gender definition?
- What sort of narratives fo the gendered physicist do we consume: Popular culture, media, Nobel Prize event
In actual physics environments, among experimentalists, theoreticians, etc - Gendered hero stories, stories about "failed careers, failed scienctists, mad scientists"
- Informal comments and every day behaviour
- Silent knowledge transfer: Who may gain informal knowledge and gossip?
- Inclusive and excluding mechanisms = more/less knowldge = more/less power/agency.
