Welcome to Lund University and the course Climate and Health in a Global Perspective, 3,0 credits

For those admitted in the first admission round (you received your admission notification on July 10th) or in the second admission round (you received your admission notification on July 24th):

If you have been admitted and wish to accept your place after the first admission round, you must ACCEPT the admissions offer at universityadmissions.se Links to an external site. by the deadline July 18th.

If you were admitted in the second admission round (July 24th), you do not need to actively accept your admission.

If you do not wish to take the course in both the above cases of admission, please DECLINE the offer at www.antagning.se Links to an external site. as soon as possible. You can do so up until the day before the online registration in Ladok opens, on February 13th. hereafter, you need to contact course administrator, kathryn.wellbaum@med.lu.se. Please actively decline so that another applicant can be offered your place. 

Web registration and the first day of the course

The course is worth 3 credits and part-time studies (25%). Teaching takes place online with no obligatory meeting on campus. All lectures will be recorded and available on the course page in the learning platform Canvas.

  • you must register for the course online in Ladok Links to an external site. between 17-24 September. Online registration in Ladok is not the same as accepting your offer at universityadmissions.se. It is only when you register for the course in Ladok Links to an external site. that you formally accept your admission. If you are unable to register in Ladok during the registration period, you must contact the course administrator at kathryn.wellbaum@med.lu.se, as soon as possible to avoid losing your place on the course.
  • It is strongly recommended that you participate in one of the 30 minute meetings via Zoom that will be held on October 1st at 12.15 pm or at 16.15 pm. You can freely choose which one of these meetings you wish to attend.

Student Account at Lund University

Your student account will be created a few days after the second admission round to Lund University is completed (after July 10th). You will receive an email from sender, noreply_accountactivation@stu.lu.se, with instructions on how to activate your student account. It is important that you remember to activate your student account. If you have not received instructions on how to activate your student account, please contact LU Service Desk at servicedesk@lu.se or call 046-222 90 00. LU Service Desk phone hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.

Note: if you have been admitted in August or later, you will have to activate your Student Account via https://passport.lu.se/ (click "Activate").

Course page in Canvas

With your student account, which will be created a few days after the second admission (after July 24th), you will be able to log in to the course page on the learning platform in Canvas. First you will have to activate your account (read above under Student Account at Lund University). On the learning platform you will find more information about the course, such as the schedule, the Zoom link for the first meeting, course assignments, and more. We appreciate your patience with questions about the course until you have activated your student account and made an online registration in Ladok. When that is done, you will be able to log in to Canvas. 

 

Course syllabus and literature

The main course book will be: Levy, B. S., Patz, J. A., & McStowe, H. L. (Eds.). (2024). Climate change and public health. Oxford University Press. Additional reading material: a small number of academic journal articles and national policies will be distributed on Canvas.
