Course Format
There will be one lecture and one exercise each week (except for the 2 week break in October).
Lectures: There are prerecorded lectures available in Canvas in advance. On the scheduled lecture time we will have a session where the lecture material is further discussed in different formats, such as illustrating the theory with more examples, doing quizzes and coding together. You should preferably have watched the lecture video in advance to be able to follow and contribute fully.
You do however not have to watch Lecture 1 before the lecture the first week. On the lectures we will get in phase after some initial transient:
Week 1: Intro lecture (Lec0). Practical details, pep-talk, very short intro to Lec1 material. This lecture is not recorded.
Week 2: We discuss Lec1. You should have watched this in advance
Week 3: We discuss both Lec2 and Lec3! You should have watched both of these in advance.
Week N: We discuss Lec N. N>=4. We are now in phase...
Exercises: On the exercises you will be able to work with the exercise problems and ask questions about.
Labs=Handins: There are also 3 laboratory exercises where each lab has a mandatory handin. All labs can be done from home. To pass, you should hand in before the lab deadline (unless you have extraordinary circumstances, when you should apply for an extension by email to BoB).
Exam: The exam is in January. It will be in the format of a 5 hour on-campus exam, where you will have access to your own computer with all tools, and all material in the form of books etc. You are of course not allowed to ask any other persons for help during the exam. You can do the exam without having passed the labs. But you need to pass the labs to pass the course.
Note: If you do not have a laptop to bring to the exam, you need to contact us before Dec 14. We will then arrange for you to do the exam on a computer in the control lab instead.
