Instructions for the written exam
The examination is composed of 6 questions, each question is worth 4 points, which gives a total of 24 points. You need 12 for an E, 14 for a D, 16 for a C 18 for a B and 20 for an A. We will make a pool of questions publically available for the students. Four of the sex exames questions will be taken from this pool. You are welcome to study these questions prior to the examinations. Two questions will be not be taken from these pool, so you may also need to read up on the other aspect of the course.
Instructions:
The questions are to be answered in running text (avoid bullet points and other shortcuts).
A good answer usually obeys to three important principles:
1) Structure: It is well-structured and has an easy-to-follow sequence.
2) Relevance: What you write is directed related and relevant for the question.
3) Argumentation: Your answer must contains all the arguments and your reasoning is clear. It is not the examiner’s task to draw conclusions from the facts you present. Additionally, the depth and breadth of the arguments presented are also be taken into consideration.
Feedback:
Unfortunately, you will receive limited feedback on your exam. Do not expect to have personal feedback in each question. After the exam read through your answers and contrast them with both the book and exam instructions.

Practicalities:
No aids (such as books, notes, laptops or phones) are allowed. It is also not allowed to talk to other students during the exam. Teachers are obliged to report any suspicions of cheating to the vice-chancellor.
