Insurance

When you travel as an employee of Lund University, you care covered by the business travel insurance of the Kammarkollegiet (the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency).

You should ask your department for an insurance certificate that contains information about what the business travel insurance covers. The business travel insurance applies even if you do not have the insurance certificate with you, but it can be useful to have it, for example, to show when entering another country. If something happens during your stay abroad, you should contact Falck Global Assistance, whose contact details can be found on the certificate.

When travelling within Europe, you should always take the Försäkringskassan European Health Insurance Card with you. This gives you a discount on any medical expenses. You can order the card here (in Swedish).

Please note that you cannot be on leave in connection with your stay abroad, as your business travel insurance will then not cover you. You can take a holiday in connection with the business trip, but the holiday must not exceed 14 days in total.

Do you have supplementary travel insurance, Diners Club TAC from Moderna försäkringar? Please note that it only applies if you have booked your business travel through LU's contracted travel agency.
