Correct references
Correct references with missing or faulty information
The data Zotero collects isn't always perfect. If you need to fix the information in a reference, you click on it in Zotero and edit the different fields in the right-hand pane:
Make it a habit to check all newly added references so that they contain all the information you need and that everything is correct.
Things that commonly need to be fixed
Article title in capital letters
Sometimes when you import a reference to Zotero, the article title is in capital letters. To change this, right click the title in the right hand pane in Zotero and select "Sentence case". Do this also when all words in the title start with a capital letter.
Article-ID instead of page numbers
For journals that have unique article-ID's instead of page numbers, Zotero doesn't always import the ID correctly. Find the article-ID on the article's webpage or in the PDF (for example e123), then put "Article e123" in the Pages-field.
Abbreviated journal titles
According to the APA 7th edition reference format, the journal title should not be abbreviated. If you import a reference with an abbreviated title, you need to change it to the full journal name. Example: Bot. J. Linn. Soc. = Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society.
