Share a document with Zotero citations

Before you send your document to someone that doesn't have your version of Zotero, you have to unlink the references from Zotero. If you don't do this, the recipient may not be able to see your in text citations or bibliography at all. Don't forget to create a backup beforehand if you would like to continue updating your citations and bibliography!

Click the button "Unlink Citations" in the Zotero menu.

Now try to change one of the journal names. What happens when you click the Refresh-button? The change remains! You will also likely get an error message saying "You must insert a citation before performing this operation".
