Project instructions
You should write and present a project, which corresponds to 2 weeks full-time work. When selecting the project, you should think about the following:
- It should be about Gender and Physics and based on literature, e.g. the one presented in this course.
- Do link it to your own context if possible, and focus on the culture and the substance of physics - not only numbers and statistics.
- It is usually not possible to make a research project, unless it is limited. If you like to do statistics and/or interviews, be very careful to limit your expectations and ambition-level. Also, if you are planning a survey or interviews, you do have to consider the Ethics regulations (see LU:s page on this).
- It is ok to do a literature study, but it got to extend beyond the main literature/material of this course.
Time schedule
- March 31 is deadline for submitting title, short abstract and preliminary project plan. Submit preliminary plan here.
- We will try to organise a presentation on "Qualitative reserearch" methods - date to be announced.
- April 10 is deadline to hand in an updated project plan - to be approved. Submit updated plan here.
- We will organise a discussion on progress of your project.
- You will need to hand-in your preliminary project report no later than five working days before the presentation. You will then also get a project to give feed-back on. Submit preliminary report here.
- Dates for presentations are given in the study plan. We will give you pass on presentation of project here and feed-back here.
- A final project report, where you have taken the feed-back into account. Submit your final report here.
Example of project reports
This is the first time this course is given, but we have given more general courses on gender linked to science and technology. Here are some examples of project reports from 2019:
