Course Overview
The Department of Automatic Control wishes to welcome you to this course. We will use Canvas to handle the contact between teachers and students, and the course schedule can be found on TimeEdit Links to an external site..
We appreciate all feedback that can result in improvements to the course. Over the past few years, we have made numerous changes (hopefully improvements) suggested by students. Here is how you can provide feedback:
- Contact us! We are happy to hear what you believe could be improved (and how). It is also good to know if you think something works well as it is, and therefore not should be changed. You can contact any of the teaching personnel. If you prefer to communicate feedback anonymously, communicate with one of the student representatives.
- Complete the CEQ evaluation. It is anonymous and you will be sent a link automatically toward the end of the course.
- Use the Discussion forum.
The formal syllabus of the course is available here Links to an external site. and CEQ-reports for the course can be found here Links to an external site..
What can I expect from the course?
This course will give you a solid introduction to Automatic Control. The course consists of a set of lectures, exercises, labs and an examination. In addition to being available for hard copy purchase at the KFS campus book store, all written course material can be downloaded free of charge from the Course Material page.
Lectures
The lectures will be given in English. Pre-recorded video lectures in Swedish are available on the corresponding lecture page.
Exercises
Optional exercise sessions will be given on-campus, see the course schedule for time and place.
Discussions
As an alternative or complement to the ordinary exercise sessions, you can use the Discussions section at Canvas for discussing exercises and other course content. You are encouraged to answer your classmates questions on the Discussions page.
Labs
The course contains three labs that will be conducted on-campus, see the corresponding page for more information on each lab. You will need to book times for your lab-session ahead of time, and for lab sessions 2 and 3 you are expected to complete preparatory exercises. You are expected to complete the preparatory exercises before attending your signup session. Someone from the teaching staff will then correct your hand-in at the start of the session.
Persons who fail to show up to the lab without a valid reason, forget to sign up for the lab, or fail to complete the preparatory exercises ahead of time, will have to do the lab the next time the course is given. Fortunately this is usually in the next study period.
Lab | When | Signup | Responsible |
1 | week 2-3 | week 1 | Julia Adlercreutz |
2 | week 4-5 | week 3 | Fethi Bencherki |
3 | week 6-7 | week 5 | TBA |
Exam
The exam will be conducted on-campus.
