Edit question - manually marked
The question editor looks a bit different depending on which question type you selected, but a lot is similar for all questions. Here you will see how to edit a manually marked question (essay).
Start by naming your assignment (1). Later on, you can select if you want to show or hide the names of the questions for students taking the test.
Write your test question in the editor by clicking where it says Replace with your question text (2).
Click in the text box (1) to choose which tools your students should have access to when answering the question. Under Prompt (2) you can change the pre-defined "Fill in your answer here"
Click Options (1) if you want to set a word limit, show students their word count and select how advanced their text editor should be.
In the example below, I have choosen "Limit maximum words" and have entered that the limit should be a maximum of 100 words:
Click on Close (2) when you are done.
Now it is time to set the Marks (1). Access the marks menu by clicking somewhere outside of the answer text box.
This menu also contains other options.
- Main illustration (1) lets you upload a picture to be shown along with the question.
- PDF panel (2) lets you upload a PDF, available to students when answering the question.
- Labels (3) are only used internally, to tag questions and create some structure in your question bank.
Before clicking Save (1), take a moment to preview the question bye clicking on the eye (2). This shows you how the question will appear to your students. You can also try answering it, in order to make sure that the marking works as intended.
