Copy the group set from another course

Latest revision: 2022-01-26

It is possible to copy group sets from one course to another using CSV files. The prerequisite is that the students are already in the new course. If you copy the group set before students have entered, empty groups are created and the students will not be synced automatically when they are added.

Before you start exporting CSV files, you need to make sure that you have enabled semicolons as punctuation. You do this inside your "Account", select "Settings" and scroll down to Feature Settings.

Step 4 - Import the CSV file

Inside the new group set you need to import the CSV file.

Import the CSV file.

You can import the CSV file by dragging and dropping the file on the rocket. Otherwise, you can also click on the rocket to browse your computer so you can see all your files.

Upload CSV file.

Groups will now be created, this may take a while, depending on how many students that need to be imported.

Once the groups have been created, it can be a good idea to check if there are unassigned students that need to be added to the groups. These are students who were not assigned to any group in the old course or students who were not in the old course.
