Syllabus — a practical page

The syllabus is an automatically created page that can be of great help for your students. On the top part you can add a text to summarise the course. On the bottom part a list of links over everything that will be graded i Canvas — assignments, graded quizzes, and graded discussions will be created automatically.
If you write a clear text to your syllabus and urge your students to use it then they’ll need to wonder where a certain assignment should be handed in.
- Edit the default text by clicking on the edit button.
- You don’t edit the bottom part of the page. This list is created automatically. If an assignment has different deadlines for different students, every student will see their deadline. Deadlines that already have passed with be highlighted with a background colour (grey in the example above, the background colour might vary for your institution).
