Taking a test in Inspera with Safe Exam Browser
Preparations before the test
Before taking a test in Inspera with Safe Exam Browser (SEB), you must first install SEB on your computer. When SEB is downloaded, confirm that it works by taking the demo test with SEB. See more information about the demo test: "Writing a demo test in Inspera"
For detailed instructions for installing Safe Exam Browser, see this guide: Inspera SEB - guide for students Download Inspera SEB - guide for students
You should do a demo test with SEB before EVERY test you take in Inspera with SEB, in order to make sure it still works for you. Updates to Inspera and Safe Exam browser may result in your versions no longer work. You may also have installed something on your computer that is not compatible with SEB.
Taking the test
Make sure your computer is connected to the internet. If possible, always use Eduroam.
Open your browser (preferably Chrome) and enter https://lund.inspera.com/) (DO NOT open Safe Exam Browser).
Press the white square and log in with your student account.
Press the settings icon in the upper right hand corner and change the language to english.
- Click "Register" and enter the test code you have been given.
Click your way forward until you reach the password box. Enter the password provided by the exam monitor.
When the exam starts you can click on "Start test".
When you are completely finished, go to the last page, the checkmark in bottom right corner (1).
If you are taking the exam on campus: Raise your hand and one of the exam monitors will approach, be prepared to show your ID. When they give the ok, click "Submit now" (2)
Important!
After submitting your test, you must exit SEB by clicking "Exit Safe Exam Browser". The button is in the top right hand corner, as well as further down on the page.
If you just close your computer lid, there is a risk that your computer will be locked the next time you open it. You can force a hard reboot by pushing and holding the power button, but this might result in data loss. If you do not want to perform a hard reboot you'll need a password that only the exam monitor and/or administrator can provide. Contact whoever is in charge of the exam.
