Problems with Safe Exam Browser?
If you are unable to start your test, despite having SEB installed, this troubleshooting guide might help.
Step 1: Make sure you have the right version of SEB installed!
The newest version of SEB is probably not the right version for Inspera, check here:
Supported versions of SEB

(SEB for windows 3.4.0 is not working for LU-users.)
You can see which version of SEB you are running when the program starts up, see picture below.
Step 2: Make sure you did not start SEB before you opened the test
You should never start SEB before logging in to Inspera and starting the exam, this will result in the test not opening. Shut down SEB, log in to Inspera and open the test, and SEB will start automatically.
Step 3: Change browser
Try opening the exam in a different browser. Mac users using Safari often experience problems, while Google Chrome usually works best on both PC and Mac.
Step 4: Reboot your computer
If you haven't already, try to reboot your computer and see if that helps.
Step 5: Uninstall programs that interfere with SEB
There's no complete list of programs that are incompatible with SEB, but you should receive an error message stating which program is causing the issue. The two most frequent culprits here at LU are Team viewer, a software for remote controlling computers and Steam, a platform for distributing games.
Do you have any of these installed? Try uninstalling them before you open the test.
Step 6: Make sure your operating system is up to date
In order to start your exam, your computers operating system must be up to date. You need to check which operating systems are compatible with SEB, and which versions of SEB are compatible with Inspera. The list is available here: Inspera SEB - system requirements Links to an external site..
Then, you need to check which version your operating system is running on your computer/tablet. If you don't now how, check out the guides below.
I have a PC and don't know what version my operating system is running
I have a Mac and don't know what version my operating system is running
Is your operating system running an outdated version? Then you need to update it before you can open an exam with SEB. Updating your operating system takes time and can affect your computer in many ways, only do this if you are sure.
