Summer projects courses 2025 (application closed)
The two-month scholarship must be used for a ten-week summer research project (eight weeks of research and two weeks to prepare for the examination) within any of the courses VMFX70, VMFX71 or VMFX72, 15 credits each, during the period June-August 2025. The courses start with an introductory day in June and the results are presented in the form of a brief written abstract/report and an oral presentation for other scholarship holders and the Executive Committee in August. The presentations will take place on campus.
Note that this is a two-step process and that the applicant does not need to have a supervisor or project in place at the time of the scholarship application (see information about the fist step below).
The total scholarship amount is SEK 27,000 (SEK 13,500 per month in June and July, non-taxable). The scholarships are awarded to students at all stages of their education in accordance with the criteria stated for each individual course. However, master students in their final semester are not eligible for the scholarship. If you are a bachelor student in your final year/semester, please read through the requirements to the summer courses carefully.
Please note that students who are non-EU/EEA citizens must pay tuition fees.

Advice when writing a motivational statement for summer scholarship application
- Be concise, the reviewers read many applications. A precise and brief statement is preferred. Please do not use Chat-GPT.
- Research merits are important. You apply in competition with other students, all merits related to research as well as extra curriculum courses are important. Activities that have no impact on your future research career are less important.
- Try to briefly motivate why you should be given a scholarship. This is extra important if you at the time of application have no research experience.
