The references look like this {Andersson, 2025 #41} in Word
This variant of citations, with {curly brackets} and no reference list, is what Word shows when it stops formatting the EndNote codes in your Word document.
This is usually easily fixed by clicking Update Citations and Bibliography on the EndNote tab in Word. If you haven’t changed anything in the curly brackets, the references should return to their formatted state. However, if you have changed something, EndNote might not recognize the reference anymore. In this case, it is best to delete the incorrect reference and insert it again.
You should turn off the formatting for copying and pasting text from one document to another or moving paragraphs around in a document (Word does not like to move formatted codes).
