Information for researchers

SUNET Survey is a cloud service – software-as-a-service. The server is in Växjö.

Data traffic between client and server is encrypted (if https is activated).

SUNET Survey is a commercial IT system that has been procured in accordance with the Swedish Public Procurement Act. The new procurement has been concluded. The current supplier won, and Lund University will therefore continue to use the survey tool, SUNET Survey. Lund University can use the survey tool for up to twelve (12) years before a new procurement needs to be conducted (calculated from 2025).

The system complies with GDPR. There is a Personal Data Processing Agreement.

When you create a survey, you can, via Survey > Construction > Settings > Access, indicate “Make this survey private”. In that case, it is only you and I and some technicians at the company who can access the survey.

As a researcher, you own your data. You are responsible for exporting the data from SUNET Survey and storing the data in a safe place. SUNET Survey is not to be used for long-term storage. After a project is concluded, you are to erase the data from the system.

You can contact me if you need help to get started with the program. I can provide basic support. If you need more extensive support, this can be purchased from the company. In that case, contact me and I can put you in touch with the right person at the company. (All contacts between users at LU and the company must be made via me as system administrator).
