Logics
Branching logic directs respondents through different paths in a survey. Branching logic is done in two steps in SUNET Survey:
- Survey questions that shall be answered by certain respondents only must be hidden from start and not numbered. Go to Survey > Construction > Content > click on the pencil-icon to the right of the question to access the advanced editing.
- Create different “branches” of the survey. Go to Survey > Construction > Content > tab Branching logic > click on the big green plus sign. Here you:
Enter a name for the branch.
Under “Conditions” and “If” click on the arrow and select option “Question”. Then select a survey question and formulate a conditional statement based on answer options which is to be met.
Under “Actions” click on the arrow and select “Show questions”. Then select which question or questions are to be included in the branch.
Click on the Save-icon.
Always test the branching logic: Survey > Construction > Preview.
