By and large, the exam will be conducted as an ordinary exam.

Preparations

Make sure you can log into zoom using your Lund University student account and join a conversation with video, showing your entire workspace (e.g. by running the zoom app on a smartphone positioned some distance away, or by using an external webcam). Don't forget to connect your phone to a wall socket or battery pack if you use it as Zoom camera. More info on Zoom here.

Rules

  • Anonymous examination will not be possible at this time.
  • You are allowed to use any help except for asking other persons for help.
  • Since you are allowed to use Matlab, it is important that you clearly motivate your answers, as you would normally do.
    • Example: If you are asked to provide the transfer function of a system with state space matrices A,B,C,D, you should write down your calculations, rather than just typing ss(A,B,C,D) in Matlab and writing down the result.
  • Throughout the exam, you will be required to participate in a Zoom meeting (details further below) with video enabeled, preferably showing your entire workspace (e.g. by running the zoom app on a smartphone positioned some distance away, or by using an external webcam).
  • Please be on time. We will not admit anyone after 3 pm, unless agreed upon. We have exchange students joining later. This means that everyone needs to stay connected until 4 pm (Swedish time).

Exam procedure

  1. Join the Zoom meeting below. We will open at 13:30, allowing 30 min to resolve any technical issues. For urgent matters (lost connection, etc.) you can contact Kristian on 070 3952522.
When you join the meeting, you will first get to a waiting room before you are let into the meeting. In the meeting, you will be assigned to a breakout room. In the breakout room, you show your ID - card to identify yourself. When the identification is done you leave the breakout room so the next student can identify him/herself.
Make sure you know where the raise hand function is in Zoom, which you can use to get our attention for help.
  2. You should have sound on to hear, but the microphone off.
  3. The exam will be available for download as pdf here at 14:00 on June 5.
  4. You will need to finish solving problems at the latest 19:00. Once you finished solving the problems, you will need to digitize (smartphone scanner app or real scanner recommended) the exam and submit it through Canvas in pdf format. The submission must be complete at the latest 19:30.
  5. If you finish the exam before 19:00, use the raise hand function in zoom and we will create a breakout room in which we can discuss individually. There we will note that you are finished, and the time, then you will have 30 minutes to scan and submit a PDF of your exam on Canvas
  6. Similarly, if you have a question use the raise hand function and we will create a breakout room in which we can discuss with you individually.

If you lose connection - don't panic. Try to reconnect. If it fails, take a look at Canvas. We will post announcements there if for instance a new Zoom meeting code is needed. If you still cannot reconnect, give Kristian a call (number above).

Please post questions on the exam format here. Also take a look at the Summary section, for scheduled events leading up to the exam.

Minor updates to this page are possible, but they will not affect the overall format.
