After being nominated for exchange studies
You have been nominated for exchange studies. The next step is to put together a study plan and apply for an exchange at the partner university. You will find detailed information on this process below.
STEP 1: PRELIMINARY STUDY PLAN
The most difficult and time-consuming part of the application process is to find the right courses and outline a preliminary study plan for your exchange at the partner university. Contact your Academic coordinator (Mattias.Collin@med.lu.se) for a discussion on course equivalency and credit transfer.
STEP 2: LEARNING AGREEMENT - FORMALISING YOUR STUDY PLAN
Once your study plan has been approved by the Academic coordinator, you can fill in your Learning Agreement. The Learning Agreement is a formalised study plan and is signed by your Academic or International coordinators as well as the representatives at the partner university.
If you are going on an exchange through Erasmus (or to the UK), you need to fill out the Learning Agreement through Solemove. Please follow the steps in the Instructions how to create an Online Learning Agreement (OLA) in SoleMove Download Instructions how to create an Online Learning Agreement (OLA) in SoleMove. The Learning Agreement is sent digital via the system to the partner university.
If you are going on exchange outside of EU, you need to fill out a Learning Agreement Download Learning Agreement manually.
STEP 3: APPLYING TO THE PARTNER UNIVERSITY
You now have to apply for an exchange at the partner university. You will receive application information directly from the partner university after nomination or from your International coordinator. It is your responsibility to keep track of the application deadline and all the necessary paperwork. Make sure you find out how to apply for accommodation!
STEP 4: LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE
Congratulations! You have been admitted once you receive your Letter of Acceptance and a signed Learning Agreement from the partner university. Notify your international coordinator as soon as you receive notice. Now is the time to book your trip and arrange accommodation, if the latter was not part of the exchange application!
STEP 5: GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Erasmus Study Mobility Grant: If you will be completing an exchange in Europe that is at least 8 weeks, you can apply for an Erasmus Study mobility grant.
Faculty of Medicine Travel Grant: For exchanges outside of Europe (that does not make you eligible for the Erasmus Study mobility grant) you may apply for the Faculty of Medicine Travel grant.
Crafoord Foundation Travel grant: If you have completed at least 180 hp (at least 60 hp in Lund) and you are doing an exchange outside of Europe, you may apply for the Crafoord Foundation travel grant.
STEP 6: AFTER YOUR EXCHANGE - CREDIT TRANSFER
Once you receive you Transcript of Records, please send it to Magnus Gram, magnus.gram@med.lu.se or Sofie Wallberg, sofie.wallberg@med.lu.se.
