Course material

Control

The control part of the course comprises five modules (published as we go). Each module is associated with lecture notes. There are also associated reading references for:

ÅM: Download Åström & Murray. Control and Dynamical Systems

LG: Ljung & Glad. Modeling and identification of dynamic systems Links to an external site.

ÅM is freely available as pdf through the link above. A free hardcopy of LG was handed out on the preregistration day. If you have not received it yet, let us know and we will arrange it somehow.

The course philosophy is learning by implementing. You will use Julia Links to an external site. with ControlSystems.jl Links to an external site. and to some extent Matlab Links to an external site. will be introduced in the course, as a complement to pen-and-paper calculations. To facilitate focusing on problem-solving rather than remembering formulae, some frequently used ones are provided in:

Download Hägglund. Automatic Control - Collection of formula.

Finally, Instructions to the laboratory exercises are provided directly in the jupyter notebooks. But for Lab 0 there are some general instructions for how the labs can be accessed and used.

Engineering ethics

All materials associated with the engineering ethics part of the course is provided through the associated Canvas pages.

Mathematics and statistics

The covered material on mathematical statistics can be found in the book by Lindgren, Rootzén, and Sandsten which can be found here.
