Examination

The examination consists of a written examination followed by an oral examination at the end of the course. The oral examination may only be taken by those students who pass on the written examination.

The written examination consists of 6 problems, each graded on a scale of 0-5 points, regardless of difficulty level. To pass the written examination, you need to obtain at least 15 of 30 possible points.

The oral examination assesses the students knowledge of the theory covered in the course. To pass the oral examination, you need to obtain at least 5 out of 10 possible points.

Grades

The grading scale of the course is Fail/Pass/Pass with distinction. To pass the course it is required to pass the written examination and the oral examination, and solve one exercise on the board during class. In addition, the grade Pass with distinction requires that the total number of points obtained in the written and the oral examination is not less than 75% of the accumulated maximal number of points.
